Different faiths join in Putnam to preach peace

Putnam, Conn. — Peace was the topic on people’s minds Sunday at the Greater Putnam Interfaith Council’s peace day celebration. Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Baha’i, Buddhist and Native American blessings and prayers at Rotary Park implored listeners to strive for peace, however they define it. “We desire peace in our lives, in our homes, our cities and towns, in our nation and in our world,” said organizer Lyn Tolar, of Putnam. “We want to be world citizens.”
