Tim DeChristopher Found Guilty of 2 Felonies for Environmental Action | AlterNet

A jury reached a guilty verdict for two counts of felony for Tim DeChristopher, the 29 year-old who disrupted an oil and gas auction in Utah two years ago to prevent the sale of public lands for drilling.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports:

“Tim has shown the power of civil disobedience to shine a light,” said Bill McKibben, who wrote a landmark book about climate change more than two decades ago. “The government should be giving him a medal, not a sentence.”
