Hamas executes two Palestinians in Gaza for ‘spying’ | guardian.co.uk

Gaza’s Hamas government says it has executed two Palestinians convicted of spying for Israel.

An interior ministry spokesman, Ihab Ghussein, said the men, aged 60 and 29, were hanged at dawn on Tuesday. He would not provide further details.

Angry family members of one of the executed men burned tyres and blocked a road in protest after the hanging.

The Gaza-based Palestinian Centre for Human Rights said Hamas has executed five people for spying since taking control of the coastal strip in 2007.
