White House condemns Israeli built settler homes in East Jerusalem, West Bank | GlobalPost

Israel plans to build 3,000 new settler homes in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, a government official told Agence France Presse today, just hours after the UN voted to recognize Palestine as a non-member state.

Before the announcement, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told Israel to halt all settlement building immediately in compliance with international law.

“Unilateral actions on the ground will not be accepted by the international community,” Ban said.
