By Richard Walser and Terri Eickel
Climate change is the greatest moral crisis of our time. Twenty-five years after James Hansen’s historic testimony before Congress warning the American people of the need to mitigate carbon pollution, our society has yet to take the appropriate action necessary to address this threat.
The mountains of scientific evidence which have been produced since that time supporting the reality of climate change and that it is being caused by human activity has failed to significantly move people to a less harmful lifestyle.
Richard Walser lives in Hamden and is a member of Trinity Church on the Green in New Haven. Terri Eickel lives in Hartford and is the executive director of the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network.
