Peace is the focus of the 5th Ordinary Summit of the International Conference of Great Lakes Region (CIRGL), on its second day with the meeting of Defence ministers.
In the first-day speeches and press conferences, most chiefs of Armed Forces and Intelligence Services favoured regional understanding.
“The successful experience of Angola could help to develop stability in the Great Lakes region”, General Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, chief of Staff of Angolaâ?Ös Armed Forces, told the media.
The same was expressed by Manuel Correia de Barros, vice president of executive board of Strategic Studies of Angola, who urged for greater cooperation among intelligence services of CIRGL country members.
According to the CIRGL agenda, a meeting of National Coordinators is scheduled for tomorrow and the day after.
