FCNL lobbies against new authorization for use of military force | FCNL

President Obama has sent a new Authorization for the Use of Military Force to Congress that perpetuates the endless war of the past 13 years. The debate about how the U.S. will engage in war is alive in Washington, DC — add your voice.

Please urge Congress to oppose this new war authorization. Then tell them to repeal the 2001 law that has been the basis of U.S. military action for more than a decade.

President Obama’s request today for a new war authorization is meant to define the war against the Islamic State that has already been underway for six months. The president’s proposal extends authority for war for three years and has no geographic limits. Significantly, it has something missing: a repeal of the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force.
