Award-winning Film to Highlight Peace Education Program on PBS Stations Across U.S. | TPRF.org

by Jake Frankel

After winning accolades at numerous film festivals for how it powerfully documents the impact of peace education on the lives of Texas inmates, Inside Peace will be shown on PBS television stations across the U.S.

Four years in the making, the feature documentary focuses on four men at the Dominguez State Jail in San Antonio who embark on a journey of self-discovery. With lives marked by generations of violence and addiction, they attend the “Peace Class” and begin the struggle to discover their humanity and rebuild their lives from the inside out.

When released from jail, life becomes even more treacherous as they try to live in a world filled with conflict, rejection, and hostility. Faced with these familiar roadblocks at every turn, they put the tools they learned in the peace education workshops into practice—and try to break the cycle of destructive behavior that led them to jail in the first place.
