‘Paint For Peace’ on the New Haven Green July 10, 2018

This will be fun!

On the New Haven Green, bring the family, and paint on Tuesday, July 10 , starting at 4 p.m. with youth from synagogues, mosques and churches in our local communities and thirty visiting Israeli and Palestinian youth as they hand paint a 14 x 48 ft. peace mural entitled ” We Welcome Refugees.”

This 48 foot mural was is designed in collaboration with Jerusalem Peace Builders, IWagePeace and artistic director and muralist Russell Rainbolt.

This event is free to the general public: Everyone is welcome to “Paint for Peace.”

This collaborative is part of Jerusalem Peacebuilder’s 10-day Service-Learning Program, where visiting Israeli, Palestinian, and American youth are studying their faith traditions, exploring personal histories, and developing skills in leadership and peacebuilding while volunteering at local non-profit organizations in New Haven.

After the event, through a grant from Barrett Outdoor Communications, the hand-painted mural will be posted at various billboard locations on the Connecticut highways.

Arrive before 5 p.m. to welcome New Haven Mayor Toni Harp and special guests from Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services of New Haven. (IRIS)
