How skewed are the government’s economic priorities? | Institute for Policy Studies

GUEST: Lindsay Koshgarian, Research Director at National Priorities Project.
BACKGROUND: The House and Senate on Thursday passed a stopgap funding measure to keep the federal government funded for two weeks and postpone a political battle over funding for Trump’s border wall.

Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi who is seeking the position of House Speaker next year, spoke to reporters about the wall calling it “immoral.”

Trump wants $5 billion for the wall. Some Democratic leaders, rather than outright reject that figure, have said that they will back $1.6 billion for the wall and/or immigration enforcement at the border.

#The new deadline for a federal government spending bill is now December 21.
