Words and Deeds | Mazin Qumsiyeh

George Bush unveiled a “road map to peace” in 2003 that was 2218 words. Donald Trump unveiled “Peace and Prosperity map” in 2020 that was 49,402 words!!

In both verbose documents, you find no mention of the words International Law or Human Rights!!!!

Both were written by colonial racist genocidal settlers in Israel and delivered to their lackeys in Washington.

The latest “scam” does achieve Israeli complete annexation of the USA government and will result in more suffering (already more than 100,000 Palestinians killed and more than 800,00 injured by this Zionist colonialism). A war on Iran is not far off. But now more US citizens will join our struggle against the Zionist double colonization (of the US and Palestine) and insist on all human rights. It is existential for all humans. Zionist leaders should be made to repay US taxpayers the $9 trillion they cost them ($3 trillion of which was just for the Iraq war).

I am in Geneva and was wrapping up the tour of the U.S. and Switzerland where I spoke to packed audiences and increasingly more people agree and work with us. We Palestinians are very grateful to countless fellow human beings who joined the struggle in countless ways. Everywhere I go I see positive people acting (BDS, Media, challenging cowardly spineless leaders etc.). The only thing now needed is for all of us to take this resistance to a higher level quicker to end this madness and needless suffering of the many in order to line the pockets of the ultra-rich. Time to put those war criminals like Gantz and Netanyahu and Trump on trial not just for their corruption but for their war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Here is a still-relevant short article I wrote on optimism and popular resistance: https://www.countercurrents.org/qumsiyeh070612.htm.

And if you want real peace based on human rights and international law (and not delusions of pacifying 13 million native Palestinians to please the colonial greed), you can read my 2004 book “Sharing the Land of Canaan” available in its entirety here: http://qumsiyeh.org/sharingthelandofcanaan  and if you want to know how we get there, please read my 2012 book on “Popular Resistance” http://qumsiyeh.org/popularresistanceinpalestine (there are other good books and I am happy to recommend some to you).

Most importantly: please act today because every delayed day caries destruction of people and their livelihoods (e.g. in Gaza).

PS to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah: End the charade of Oslo and respect the people’s will NOW. Right of refugees to return to their homes and lands and be treated equally is not negotiable. Our struggle was never about a rump state but about return, liberation, and self-determination. Time is up.
